APGA Osun Congratulates Gov. Soludo, Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa on Anambra By-Election Victory

APGA OSUN CONGRATULATES GOV. SOLUDO, BARR. SYLVESTER EZEOKENWA ON ANAMBRA BY-ELECTION VICTORY

The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has congratulated the Governor of Anambra State and National Leader of the party, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as well as the National Chairman of APGA, Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa, on the party’s victory in the recently concluded Anambra by-elections.

This was contained in a congratulatory statement issued in Osogbo by the Chairman of APGA in Osun State, Wole Adedoyin, who described the victory as another milestone in consolidating the party’s strength and influence in Nigeria’s democratic space.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared APGA victorious in both the Anambra South Senatorial and Onitsha North 1 State House of Assembly by-elections conducted on Saturday. According to results announced on Sunday, the party swept all wards in the affected constituencies.

In the senatorial by-election, held to fill the seat left vacant following the demise of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, APGA’s candidate, Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu, polled a total of 90,408 votes to defeat his closest rivals—APC with 19,812 votes and YPP with 6,538 votes.

Similarly, in the Onitsha North 1 State House of Assembly by-election, which followed the tragic loss of its former occupant, Justice Azuka, APGA candidate Mimi Ifeoma Azikiwe secured a landslide victory with 7,774 votes against her closest challenger from the ADC, who polled 1,909 votes.

Declaring the results, Prof. Frank Ojiako, INEC Returning Officer for the Senatorial poll, affirmed Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu duly elected, while Prof. Ibiam Ekpe, Returning Officer for the State Assembly election, announced Mimi Ifeoma Azikiwe as winner.

The outcome marks a historic milestone, as this is the first time APGA will be representing Anambra South in the Senate. Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu’s election is widely regarded as a symbol of APGA’s resilience and growing acceptability across Nigeria.

Reacting to the victory, Governor Soludo, in a message shared on his official Facebook page, expressed joy and gratitude to Ndi Anambra for their overwhelming support. He noted that APGA won over 75 percent of the votes, sweeping all 118 wards across seven local government areas in the Senatorial District, and all eight wards in Onitsha North Constituency 1.

APGA Osun, through its Chairman, Wole Adedoyin, lauded the people of Anambra for once again reaffirming their faith in the party. He also commended INEC and all stakeholders for conducting a peaceful and credible election, noting that the victory further strengthens APGA’s vision of being the true voice of the people.

The Osun State Chapter concluded its message by congratulating Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu and Mimi Ifeoma Azikiwe, urging them to remain steadfast in service, uphold the values of APGA, and work tirelessly to bring dividends of democracy to their constituents.
