OSUN 2026: APGA VOWS TO FIELD CREDIBLE, PEOPLE-ORIENTED GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE
The Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Osun State, Hon. Wole Adedoyin, has assured residents that the party will field a credible, competent, and people-oriented candidate in the forthcoming 2026 Governorship Election.
Hon. Adedoyin emphasized that APGA remains committed to restoring integrity, accountability, and transparency in governance through the emergence of a candidate with a proven track record of service and dedication to the welfare of the people.
In a press statement issued in Ilesa on Sunday, Hon. Adedoyin reiterated that APGA’s vision for Osun State is anchored on good governance, socio-economic development, and inclusive growth. He noted that both the state and national leadership of the party have resolved to ensure that only aspirants of impeccable character and genuine passion for public service are considered for the governorship ticket.
According to him, the upcoming election presents an opportunity for Osun residents to embrace a new political alternative that prioritizes the people’s needs above political interests. He maintained that APGA’s candidate would be an individual with a deep understanding of the state’s challenges and the capacity to implement pragmatic solutions that will improve the standard of living of its citizens.
Hon. Adedoyin assured party members and supporters that the nomination process would be transparent, credible, and in full compliance with the party’s constitution and democratic principles. He stressed that APGA remains steadfast in upholding internal democracy and will not tolerate imposition, favoritism, or any practice that could undermine the integrity of its selection process.
The Caretaker Chairman also urged the electorate to remain vigilant and reject political gimmicks that have hindered the progress of the state over the years. He called on the people of Osun to rally behind APGA as a reliable platform for genuine change, noting that the party’s governorship candidate will reflect the collective aspirations and yearnings of the populace.
In his remarks, Hon. Adedoyin highlighted APGA’s readiness to work closely with various stakeholders—including youth groups, women’s organizations, and community leaders—to ensure broad-based participation in the political process. He emphasized that the party’s strategy would focus on issue-based campaigns addressing critical sectors such as education, agriculture, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
He further reaffirmed APGA’s determination to build alliances and foster unity among progressive forces in the state ahead of the 2026 polls. According to him, the party is open to collaboration with credible individuals and groups who share its vision of a prosperous and well-governed Osun State.
Hon. Adedoyin concluded by expressing confidence that APGA will not only present a candidate who embodies integrity and competence but will also earn the trust and support of the people to lead Osun State into a new era of prosperity, stability, and good governance.
