APGA Southwest Mourns the Death of The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun

 

APGA SOUTHWEST MOURNS THE DEATH OF THE OLUBADAN OF IBADANLAND, OBA LEKAN BALOGUN

The Southwest Zone of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has mourned the passing of the revered Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun. The esteemed monarch departed from this world after a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, leadership, and service. He transitioned to the realm of ancestors at the venerable age of 81, leaving a significant void in the hearts of his subjects and well-wishers.

The news of the demise of Oba Lekan Balogun, a highly respected traditional ruler, has sent shockwaves throughout the Southwest region and beyond. His reign was characterized by unwavering dedication to the development and unity of Ibadanland, earning him widespread admiration and respect across Nigeria.

In a press statement issued by the National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of APGA, Alhaji Owolabi Suraj Olanrewaju, who is also an esteemed Ibadan High Chief, the party expressed profound sorrow over the loss of the Olubadan. Alhaji Olanrewaju extended heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the people of Ibadanland, and indeed, all who mourn the passing of this illustrious monarch.

According to the release, “Oba Lekan Balogun's contributions to the cultural heritage and socioeconomic advancement of Ibadanland are immeasurable. His reign witnessed remarkable progress and unity within the traditional institution, as well as initiatives aimed at uplifting the lives of his subjects.”

“As the Southwest mourns the loss of a visionary leader and custodian of tradition, APGA stands in solidarity with the people of Ibadanland during this period of mourning. The party acknowledges Oba Lekan Balogun's legacy of selfless service, which will continue to inspire generations to come.”

“The passing of Oba Lekan Balogun leaves a significant void in the traditional landscape of Ibadanland and Nigeria as a whole. His wisdom, guidance, and benevolent leadership will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.”

APGA Southwest finally extended its deepest sympathies to the royal family, the entire Ibadan community, and all those affected by this loss.
