MINUTES OF THE SECOND STATE EXECUTIVE MEETING OF APGA HELD ON OCTOBER 2, 2023
1. The second State Executive Meeting of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) took place at the N.U.J. Press Center, located along Iwo Road, Capital Area, Osogbo, on October 2, 2023. A total of five executive members were in attendance, while four members tendered their apologies for not being present.
2. The meeting commenced following the party’s established rules and regulations, ensuring proper order and adherence to protocol. The Chairman then addressed the house, providing a comprehensive report from the recent meeting held in Abuja.
3. In his address, the Chairman conveyed that the Abuja meeting proceeded smoothly without any issues. He noted that all the APGA chairmen from the South-West region were present, including the Ogun State Chairman, who was called upon to explain the situation in his state.
4. The Chairman emphasized that the Osun State chapter was in excellent standing, with no significant issues to address. He also relayed that the National Chairman stressed the importance of physical efforts over paperwork, urging state chapters to take proactive measures to advance the party's objectives.
5. State chapters with upcoming elections were invited to discuss their preparedness and strategies. The Chairman highlighted the ongoing efforts in Lagos State to establish the South-West Secretariat, noting that while there was some opposition, the matter was still under discussion.
6. Another significant issue discussed at the Abuja meeting was the distribution of party agent cards. The Chairman informed the members that the process is transitioning to a digital platform to prevent misuse by other parties.
7. The Chairman further mentioned that APGA is advancing technologically, with plans for a national rollout of the "APGA Apple" digital platform. This innovation is expected to enhance the party's operations and outreach.
8. The Chairman also informed the members about the financial support provided to all state chairmen, which was well received. Mr. Victor expressed his gratitude for the Chairman’s leadership, a sentiment echoed by Mr. Gbadebo, who praised the Chairman’s efforts in laying a solid foundation for the party.
9. Mr. Gbadebo provided an update on the ongoing membership audit and mobilization efforts, stating that all hands were on deck to ensure the success of these initiatives.
10. The Chairman discussed the inauguration of Local Government Committees and addressed concerns about the attitude of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) towards the APGA representatives.
11. Mr. Victor was then called upon to provide an update on the activities within IPAC. He detailed the challenges faced, particularly regarding the distribution of palliatives, and expressed disappointment in IPAC's approach.
12. Mr. Victor explained that IPAC had agreed to call a press conference and inform the Governor and other relevant ministries about their handling of palliatives. He concluded by mentioning that a second phase of palliative distribution was forthcoming.
13. The executive members expressed their appreciation to Mr. Victor for his dedication and efforts in representing APGA within IPAC.
14. The Chairman provided an update on the interactions with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding the party’s list submissions. He assured the members that all issues had been amicably resolved.
15. Mr. Victor also presented a financial report, detailing the correspondence he had sent to the appropriate authorities. He confirmed that everything was in order, and the members commended his meticulous handling of financial matters.
16. The meeting progressed smoothly, with members actively engaging in discussions and contributing to the deliberations on various issues affecting the party.
17. The Chairman reiterated the importance of unity and teamwork within the state chapter, urging all members to continue working together towards the common goal of advancing APGA's interests.
18. The meeting provided an opportunity for members to share insights and updates on their respective roles and responsibilities, fostering a sense of collaboration and mutual support.
19. The meeting concluded at 2:50 PM with a closing prayer led by Mr. Adekunle Gbadebo, who prayed for the continued success of the party and its members.
20. As a note, the Secretary reported that a total of ₦20,000 was in the party's account at the start of the meeting. ₦2,200 was spent during the meeting, leaving a balance of ₦17,800.
