APGA OSUN URGES PEACEFUL CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS, CALLS FOR IMPROVED SECURITY
The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has extended warm Christmas greetings to all Christians in the state.
The party urged citizens to celebrate the festive season with love, peace, and compassion, as exemplified by Jesus Christ, whose birth is being commemorated.
In a statement issued by the Chairman of the party, Wole Adedoyin, from his hometown in Ilesa, APGA emphasized the need for reflection on the values of humility, sacrifice, and selflessness that define the essence of Christmas.
The party called on Christians to embrace these virtues in their daily lives to promote harmony and unity in the state.
The statement further acknowledged the challenges facing Osun State and Nigeria at large, including insecurity, and urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to prioritize the protection of lives and properties during and beyond the festive season.
The party expressed concern over the increasing insecurity in parts of the state and called for proactive measures to address these issues effectively.
APGA called on the state government to intensify efforts in collaborating with security agencies to curb criminal activities and ensure the safety of all citizens.
The party highlighted the importance of creating a secure environment where citizens can celebrate Christmas without fear or anxiety.
The statement also urged the people of Osun State to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities. It emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and called for cooperation between citizens and the government to achieve a peaceful and secure society.
While commending Governor Adeleke’s administration for its efforts so far, the party encouraged the governor to focus more on delivering on his promises of improving the welfare of the people. APGA reaffirmed its commitment to constructive engagement with the government for the benefit of the citizens.
The party also appealed to religious leaders and community stakeholders to use the Christmas season to preach messages of hope, love, and reconciliation. It stressed the importance of fostering unity among different religious and ethnic groups in the state.
As families gather to celebrate the season, APGA reminded citizens to extend a hand of kindness to the less privileged, reflecting the true spirit of Christmas.
The party encouraged charitable acts that can bring joy and relief to those in need.
