EXCERPTS FROM THE MINUTES OF THE CARETAKER COMMITTEE MEETING OF APGA OSUN HELD ON 21ST SEPTEMBER, 2025

ATTENDANCE
All members of the newly constituted Caretaker Executive Committee of the party were in attendance.
INTRODUCTION
The meeting was convened in accordance with due process and with the approval of the current National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of APGA, Alhaji Suraj Owolabi, who was duly briefed and granted his consent. Proceedings commenced at exactly 1:30 PM with an opening prayer led by Mr. Awojide Segun Peter.
Thereafter, the House reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting, which was held on the 16th of February, 2025, at the party’s former State Secretariat.
THE COUNCIL OF CHAIRMEN MEETING HELD IN ABUJA
The Caretaker Chairman, Mr. Wole Adedoyin, briefed the House on the outcome of the States’ Chairmen Meeting held on Thursday, 28th August, 2025, at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.
The following issues were raised with respect to our Chapter:
ON THE CONGRESS STATUS OF OSUN STATE CHAPTER
The National Chairman, Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa, acknowledged that the Osun State Chapter has been experiencing challenges with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding the conduct of its congress. He noted that the name of the State Chairman has not been reflected in INEC’s register of party Chairmen in the state, since there is no official record of any congress being held by the chapter.
As a result, the National Chairman emphasized that the current Executive Committee cannot be regarded as duly elected. Consequently, the State Chairman will henceforth be recognized only as the Caretaker Chairman, pending the conduct of a fresh congress in the state.
A new Caretaker Committee has already been constituted, with members carefully selected based on their proven track record, commitment, and dedication to the party’s progress. The list of the newly constituted committee has since been forwarded to the National Vice Chairman (Southwest) for record and further action.
ON THE FORTHCOMING GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION
The National Chairman, Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa, charged the Caretaker Chairman of APGA Osun State to begin the process of identifying credible governorship candidates ahead of the forthcoming election. He emphasized the importance of fielding a competent, committed, and serious candidate who can represent the party effectively in the state.
Furthermore, the National Chairman advised the Caretaker Chairman to maintain regular consultations with the National Vice Chairman (Southwest), Alhaji Suraj Owolabi, in order to stay updated on developments and align with plans from the National Headquarters regarding the election.
DISTRIBUTION OF NEW MEMBERSHIP FORMS
During the meeting, the National Chairman introduced the newly designed membership form, created to simplify the party’s registration process. He explained that the form serves as an entry point before members are officially documented in the party’s electronic system.
Each form contains two detachable sections: the upper portion is retained by the party, while the lower portion is issued to the applicant as a temporary membership slip. This structure ensures accurate record-keeping and smooth integration into the national digital database, which will eventually replace the traditional paper register.
In preparation for the forthcoming party primaries, the National Chairman announced that the electronic register will be printed and distributed across state and local government levels, serving as the sole official document for conducting primaries. He further revealed that the ongoing membership validation exercise will continue into the New Year, after which permanent membership cards will be issued beginning in January. Only members with a permanent APGA membership card will be eligible to contest elections or serve as delegates.
To support the process, each State Chairman has received 1,000 membership forms. The ICT Department at the National Headquarters will oversee the collation and digitization of completed forms. The Chairman clarified that the APGA Membership Registration website remains active, and members who registered online are not required to fill out the physical form again.
He emphasized that the physical forms were designed as an alternative for areas with limited internet access. State Chairmen were instructed to return completed forms promptly to the National Secretariat to ensure timely digital documentation.
Forms were also distributed to members of the Caretaker Committee. The Chairman cautioned that completed forms must be returned before additional sets can be issued. He added that more forms will be made available during the next extended stakeholders’ meeting of the party.
Additionally, members were cautioned to handle membership forms responsibly. They were advised not to hoard the forms but to issue them promptly to individuals who genuinely wish to become members of APGA.
ON APGA OSUN MATTERS
THE STATE SECRETARIAT
The Chairman informed the House that the party had been ejected from its former Secretariat following the expiration of the one-year rent. The landlord, through his caretaker, notified the Deputy Chairman — who initially facilitated the use of the building — that the property could no longer be leased as a party Secretariat, as it was strictly intended for residential purposes.
He recalled that the Secretariat had been secured in August of the previous year during preparations for the local government elections. The Chairman assured members that all party properties remain safe and intact. He further explained that the Caretaker Committee is making concerted efforts to secure a new permanent Secretariat, while a temporary office space has already been acquired in the state capital to host political meetings.
The Chairman appealed for the support of members and stakeholders in facilitating the acquisition of a permanent Secretariat.
VISITATION OF PRINCE ADESINA O. ADEYEMI-DORO (APGA GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANT)
One of the key highlights of the meeting was the visitation of Prince Adesina O. Adeyemi-Doro, one of the party’s governorship aspirants. For some members hearing the name for the first time, the Chairman clarified that Prince Adeyemi-Doro officially joined APGA a few months ago and has since been actively participating in party activities, particularly through its WhatsApp platform.
To formally declare his intention to contest for the party’s governorship ticket, Prince Adeyemi-Doro was invited to address the Caretaker Committee, an invitation which he duly honored. During the interactive session, the Caretaker Chairman reminded members that apart from Prince Adeyemi-Doro, another aspirant currently in an opposition party within the state has also indicated interest in seeking APGA’s governorship ticket.
The session, anchored by the Publicity Secretary, Mr. Oluwabusuyi Jerry Oluwabamigbe of the Caretaker Committee, featured a series of questions directed at Prince Adeyemi-Doro. These covered his parental background, political experience, educational qualifications, family life, and most importantly, his choice of APGA. When asked why he chose APGA out of the nineteen (19) registered political parties in Osun State, his response was striking: he stated that he believes deeply in APGA’s ideology and sees it as the only platform through which he can actualize his political vision and blueprint.
He was further asked whether, if given the governorship ticket, he would remain loyal to APGA or defect to another party. In his words, he assured the Committee that he would never abandon “the party that gave him a voice when he was voiceless and food when he was hungry.” He also highlighted his past contributions to humanitarian causes and his longstanding passion for serving humanity.
Prince Adeyemi-Doro disclosed that he has already begun drafting his governorship blueprint, which he plans to unveil officially once he secures the party’s ticket. He appealed for the support of the national, zonal, and state structures of the party to actualize his ambition.
In response, the Caretaker Chairman thanked him for choosing APGA, assuring him that the party will not disappoint. He further confirmed that the aspirant’s declaration would be communicated to the Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Suraj Owolabi, who in turn will brief the National Chairman, Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa.
The Chairman concluded by noting that the cost of the nomination form would be communicated to Prince Adeyemi-Doro once the party officially publishes it.
MOTION FOR ADJOURNMENT
The motion for adjournment was moved by Mr. Lekan Ajao and duly seconded by Mr. Jide Olopade. The meeting was formally brought to a close with a prayer offered by Mr. John Paul.
